| | Reason #287 to get married: someone to check the closets for intruders.
I came home yesterday to find my apartment was a few degrees warmer than I had left it. I'm about 99% sure that I didn't touch the thermostat at all yesterday... I haven't touched it in weeks. So that left me with the conclusion that someone had been in my apartment and messed with my thermostat. The door was locked when I got home, leading me to believe someone came and left. I'm hoping to goodness that it was apartment management and not a thief or rapist. I checked all my closets and anywhere else someone could have hidden and everything looked ok. (I was on the phone with mom so she could have called 911 for me if there was a problem.) Nothing else seemed out of place... all my electronics were still there, although who'd want to steal a Mac, right?  And really, why adjust the thermostat, of all things to touch. Maybe they replaced the air filter and needed the AC to not run for a few minutes?
It would have been nice to have D there, if for no other reason than to have a physical body next to me reassuring me that it's probably ok. Here's hoping everything is fine when I head to lunch shortly...
